The British School of Kampala Year 8 Trip
Isn’t Murchison falls an adventurous place to think of? But guess what! Indeed it was a magical and adventurous trip. I was so excited the morning of the trip. I woke up extremely early just to style and prepare myself for the adventurous day awaiting for me. My suit case was loaded with clothes and everything I needed, I bought data for 20k and bought myself a never ending supply of snacks.
This moment made me feel like a mature person that doesn’t need their parents to take care of them. I just felt like and independent woman. The set off took about 2 hours and the road trip took up to 5 hours to the Kiboga hot springs. The hot springs were just something I could have never imagined in my life. The water was so hot that we even boiled eggs. The hike was amazing, connecting with my close friends just made it a special moment that I would never forget in my life.
The hotels were exquisite! The rooms we were all in were just perfect. Sharing rooms with my best friends just made it special. The laughs and giggles just made everything feel so warm and cozy. The jazz we all had, made me feel like I wanted to jump and laugh. Everything was just so interesting. For people like me, who have never been to a trip without their parents, everything just seemed so extraordinary. The trip allowed me to become independent, connect with my friends outside school and even to get to know how the outside world without your parents looked like. To be honest, my parents made a great choice to let me participate in the trip.
The sunsets just swallowed me into them. Those were one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life. The falls just left me in awe. I had never seen actual falls in my life and to make things more interesting, the speed of the water and the flow of the water was just crazy. The falls were just majestic!
Helping out the children in the orphanage made me feel so amazing. I just loved getting to talk with kids and I also loved connecting with the director of the orphanage. This experience made me feel so blessed. The bus rides were just on another level, we all laughed, sand songs, made jokes, and jazzed about a variety of things.
Being able to attend the trip was one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life!
P.S (connecting with my friends was one of my favorite things, I really enjoyed hanging out with them)
Another thing I should say is that: Ms. Bridget is one of the best teachers ever. She is the whole reason we all got to experience this amazing chapter. Thanks to Mr. Eric too he really did a great job! And to the travel guides to, thank you for making it possible
